Rewards

I have been trying to figure out how and when to reward myself and I haven't figured out the best way. I don't want to reward for weight loss because this about more than a number on the scale. Do I reward for days exercised or good food days? Any ideas??

  1. Maybe a date with your hubby? I would babysit the kids for you! :)

  2. Beautiful flowers once a week! You know they lift you up, especially since there aren't any growing outside right now! Also, I have to say food rewards can be helpful too! Homemade salsa with all its enticing smells is a good one for me. Go go go! :-)

  3. I think the flower idea is a very good idea! You are so good with flowers and love them... and the date night is good - but then you have to be careful not to choose going out to eat - hee hee. Maybe a movie - but then there is popcorn.. See, I am just proving your point - it is so hard to change habits.. I guess somehow we have to get to the point that "eating and living well" is the reward. It is about being able to move with ease and getting back your energy - that is the great reward that has to be recognized.

We are all in the same boat, Brittnay, most of us associate eating as a good time, a celebration... and not eating our favorite foods - well, we feel deprived. By the way - I am on the 200lb mark - boy, that was hard to admit! - so I am not one skinny woman trying to tell you things, I myself, struggle with everyday!

I heard a talk one time about Obedience and the different levels of Obedience..
    1. you obey because you are forced to
    2. you obey because you are preasured into it
    3. you obey because you are "suppose to" you know it is right.
    4. you obey because you want to.

We can subsitute the word Obedience to Living Right. But getting to that 4th level means climbing through levels 1,2,and 3.. keep climbing Brittany... you can get there!

  4. Those are certainly words of wisdom! The best reward IS being able to move with ease and have that old energy back. Brittany is doing great on this program and she is an inspiration to me.
She is not letting her arthritis hold her back even though I know she hurts.
